Self Tanner and SPF: Choosing a 2Bmagic Body-Glow Routine

A bronzed appearance is not sun protection. Choose a self-tanner for its cosmetic finish and manage sun exposure separately. An SPF number on one product must not be transferred to a different formula, scent, or product linked from this guide.

Self tan, tanning accelerators, and sunscreen are different

A sunless tanning product creates a cosmetic tanned appearance without needing deliberate UV exposure. A product marketed for outdoor tanning is not automatically a self-tanner, and neither a bronze color nor a tanning claim establishes sunscreen protection.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends continuing to use sunscreen with self-tanner and avoiding tanning beds. For exposed skin outdoors, its guidance recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, together with other sun-protection measures. See the AAD sun-protection guidance.

Check the exact current packaging. Do not use this article as proof of an SPF rating, protection from burning, or suitability for sunbeds. The linked Express product information states that it is not sunscreen.

Choose gel, cream, or a set by how you like to apply

The 2Bmagic Express Tanning Gel & Cream product page lists Gel, Cream, and Gel + Cream options in Watermelon, Peach, and Coconut.

  • Gel: the lighter, quick-spreading option described on the product page.
  • Cream: a richer texture with more blending slip.
  • Gel + Cream: both textures; a set is not a direction to mix them together.

Choose the texture you can distribute evenly. Scent is a preference, not a shade chart or an indicator of SPF. Compare the current variants and directions rather than assuming a particular scent creates a darker result.

A controlled application checklist

  1. Read the directions and test compatibility as instructed before a full application.
  2. Prepare clean, dry skin and give extra attention to dry areas.
  3. Work in manageable sections with thin, even layers.
  4. Use less product around hands, feet, knees, elbows, wrists, and ankles.
  5. Follow the exact product directions for drying, development, and any rinse. There is no universal time for every formula.
  6. Keep sun protection separate and continue it outdoors.

For general technique, see AAD: how to apply self-tanner. Avoid irritated or broken skin and stop use if irritation occurs.

Before you buy

Compare gel versus cream to decide on texture, or use the self-tanning guide to plan your routine. View current options, directions, and prices on the Express product page.

Editorial correction: earlier wording overstated sun protection and mixed different tanning products. This version separates cosmetic color from sunscreen and does not claim a burn-free or safer UV tan. This is a brand shopping guide, not individual medical advice.
